I offer counselling in both Totnes & Plymouth in Devon.
I offer a safe, non judgemental, empathic and confidential space in which you can identify, explore and make sense of difficult feelings and experiences. These may include anxiety; depression; relationship issues; the effects of abuse; issues around bereavement and loss; or issues from childhood which have had a bearing on experiences and feelings in the present. Understanding your feelings so that they no longer overwhelm you will help you to make informed choices for yourself, increase your self esteem and enable you to set and work towards achieving realistic goals for yourself and your life.
My counselling approach, which is eclectic/integrative is tailored to the needs and personality of the individual client.
I have been counselling for nine years, and have experience of working in counselling agencies as well as in a GP surgery and in private practice and I am a Counselling Supervisor.
My professional qualifications are: Certificate in Supervision; Advanced Certificate in Counselling; Diploma in Pastoral and Clinical Counselling; Certificate in Grief and Bereavement Counselling; Certificate in Marriage and Family Counselling; and Transactional Analysis 101. I have also undertaken training courses in Psychodynamic Counselling; Working with Bereaved Children and Young People; and Understanding Aspects of Abuse.
I am an Accredited Counsellor with ACC and my work is carried out in accordance with the ethical guidelines and practice of both ACC and BACP (of which I am an Associate Member).
My fees are:
Counselling: £15 for an initial session of one hour
- which gives clients the opportunity to see whether counselling would be a helpful
way forward.
Then £25 per hour with concessions negotiable for students and those
on low incomes.
Supervision: £30 an hour with reduced rates for counselling students and voluntary counsellors.
